Summerfruit WordPress theme

ImageShack

Summerfruit is a contrasting, striking and bold with a Web2.0 look from Carl Mason. It is a two ( 2 ) column, fluid width , widget ready theme. The background is predominantly white and the sidebar is on the right.

ImageShack

The header draws your attention with bold web 2.0 looking red stripes. and nice gradients. The mouse over color on the menu is also quite good.

ImageShack

The posts have a big calender icon which looks quite good, in addition to clearly showing the post date. The image in the post however have no border or padding. These will have to be rectified by the people who wish to use this theme.

ImageShack

At the bottom of each post is an “Up?” link that takes you to the top of the page and also the comments indicator in a cool speech bubble.

ImageShack

The blockquotes seem to have a problem. They are overlapping the text, which is not good. Other things are normal in this theme. People wishing for post pagination will have to add the code to the template themselves.

ImageShack

The sidebar has a good looking rss button, but this is all there is after that. It looks neat enough, though.

ImageShack

The footer has black stripes, and also has place to put your links.

Overall a good looking web 2.0 theme, though one might have to edit it a bit to get the blockquotes working. properly.

I love this theme, I’m using it since the beginning, but I would like to get some improvements.

    For exmaple :

    The blockquotes as you said.
The blogroll fonts should be bold
The icon for every link in the blogroll should be a better one.

Too old, to many CSS or html error, Lack of wordpress 2.7 compatibility, isn’t worthy never more.

Anyway if you like this theme check for Startdust theme and Gravel.

Sadly Gravel its gorgeous, but lack some features too.

I will change to Startdust in a couple of days, I been test it in a local mirror and Its amazing.

Yes, it’s a very nice template. I like it alot.

The only major problem I had and I don’t know if I should blame the template or the widget I installed, but, I installed the “Wordpress Shopping Cart” and never liked it so I immediately uninstallled it. But, the menu buttons of the shopping cart stayed on my SummerFruit template (my site) and I cannot get rid of it.

So, now I’m uninstalling the template hoping it will fix the problem. But, let me tell you, I beleive there is a major problem with the shopping cart. I still beleive the SummerFruit template is one of the coolest one I’ve seen so far. I recommend it!

    Later,

    Carlos
