Dark AjaxDL WordPress Theme
Dark AjaxDL is a WordPress theme ported from one of Solucija’s free templates. It looks like Solucija is having a good collection of free templates with a professional look. Eric is already doing a great job porting them. Looks like he has company now. This two column neat dark theme utilises Ajax to a good extend.
Coming down from a disappointing plain header, I was soon relieved to see some nice rounded edges throughout the theme. The static pages as well as the search box have been positioned below the header.
Further down we see the first post. There is this calendar like date box on the left end of the title header. Then after the title, we have the Read More and Comments button nicely positioned with an added hover effect. I don’t know if it is a good idea to position Read More on top of the post. I myself prefer to read the excerpt and then click on the read more located right next to the last word of the excerpt. But hey, that’s me.
Next we encounter the first Ajax effect in this theme. The theme uses Draggable Sidebar Boxes and Ajax Comment effects. Both look pretty cool though it is nothing new. Notice the top right rounded edge in purple of the draggable boxes.
The unique color combination will ensure your blog stands out from the rest. My only concern would be the read more buttons on top of the posts.
PS: I tried to locate the developer page for this theme but looks like there isn’t one. The developer Hosteeq Designer has a generic blog but doesn’t carry any info on this theme. Anyway it can be downloaded from Themes.WordPress.Net.
